All there is to do during shelter-in-place is play Animal Crossing, study, and eat food. To be transparent, I’ve spent a good half of my time eating.
I’ve always had an obsessive personality. Growing up, I had a collection of 64 mini elephants, complete set 50 state quarters and special nickel collections, and too many kirby plushies. With all this time to eat, I’ve become obsessed with certain foods and only realized too late. There’s nothing stopping me from eating so much, so I don’t stop. One food I’ve become obsessed with is tuna mayo. It goes well with bread AND with rice, what more could I want? Practically everyday I find myself making this meal because of how delicious it is and how easy it is to make. All you need to do is open a can of tuna, drain the water out, and then mix it in a bowl with however much mayo you want. Sometimes, I use seaweed to make tuna mayo sushi rolls. Another dish is Nutella butter toast. I was obsessed with Nutella as a kid, but forgot about this spread until I was stocking up no food when shelter-in-place first started. Now it’s become a breakfast staple; whatever I eat in the morning I have to make myself a slice of Nutella butter toast to go along with it. When I get hungry at night I make two more slices of this to munch on.
Two other foods I’ve become obsessed with are cranberry juice, although it isn’t a food, and quesadillas. Growing up, I didn’t like cranberry juice at all. It was too bitter and always made my face pucker up. Now, I go through a 3 liter bottle a week. I’m pretty sure I am the main reason the store across from my apartment keeps stocking cranberry juice. Originally, I started drinking it to be more healthy, but now I can’t stop. With quesadillas, they are so quick and easy to make. If you couldn’t tell by now, those two qualities are what qualify food as good to me. I’m a big cheese lover, so my obsession with quesadillas weren’t a surprise to me. My daily routine is in a constant cycle of eating Nutella butter toast for breakfast, tuna mayo for lunch, and Quesadillas for dinner (with cranberry juice for every meal).
